1% For The Planet is a global non-profit organisation that connects cash to causes to address the most pressing issues facing our planet.
We donate 1% of our total sales revenue each year to 1% For The Planet. They then disperse this cash across their non-profit partners. Each of their non-profit partners focus on one or more of the following six core areas: climate, food, land, pollution, water, and wildlife.
We work directly with 1% For the Planet to source specific non-profit partners who help to fight environmental issues that we also feel passionately about. This means we have the ability to choose who our donation goes to and the area that they focus on.
In 2018, we will be choosing several non-profit partners to gift to. If you feel passionately about one or more of the six core focus areas listed above, get in touch with your recommendation on how you think our donation should be spent.
More about 1% For The Planet
Founded in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard creator of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews founder of Blue Ribbon Flies, their members have given more than £100 million to environmental non-profits to date. Today, 1% For The Planet is a network of more than 1,200 business members, numerous individuals, and thousands of non-profit partners in more than 40 countries.
One tree planted
One Tree Planted is a non-profit organisation that plants trees, it’s as simple as that! They focus on global reforestation and plant trees in 4 regions around the world, North America, South America, Asia and Africa.
One Tree Planted is also an official member of 1% For the Planet, but we believe in their cause so much so that on selected products we make an additional donation to them.

THE fair wear foundation
Many of our wholesalers are partnered with The Fair Wear Foundation, including Earth Positive and Fair Share. The Fair wear Foundation is an independent non-profit organisation that has been set up specifically to improve working conditions in the garment industry. When you purchase a Fair Wear certified product you know that the pay and conditions in the local market are fair and just.
The price of cotton has slumped in the last 30 years, even though the cost of producing it has risen and that means farmers in places like India, Kyrgyzstan and West Africa are struggling to survive. Buying products made from Fair Trade Cotton ensures that the farmers receive a fair and stable price for their goods. We strive to offer mainly Fair Trade cotton or as a minimum, organic cotton.
We are officially certified as a PETA Vegan Approved retailer. This means that all of our clothes and gear are free from leather, fur, wool, skin, exotic skins or any other animal-derived fabric.
We work with garment manufacturer EarthPositive™, who demonstrates the highest possible environmental, social and ethical standards manufacturing solely using sustainable energy generated from wind and solar power.
